Student Struggles
Brief summary
Adolescent in the college setting experience all sorts of struggles. Struggles include but are not limited to; stress, mental health issues, workload management, class management, and social acceptance.
Why should we care/why does it matter
Our bodies are design to be physically active and needs time to rest, staying up late in the library to finish a paper that is due at midnight or devoting hours of your day to only doing school work nonstop isn’t good for your body or yourself. Out of all groups or categories in the world, college students are one of the main groups that are showing high level of sedentary lifestyle and it is because of the stress, lack of sleep, and just in general the incredible amount of work that goes into being a successful college student that we don’t see in many other groups.
Research
A recent study was conducted in the college setting and design their study into different sub groups and groups. They design this study that way because of all of the different factors within a college student, like their backgrounds, race, gender, social status, and family situations. The study found that in all of subgroups compared even the healthier of the groups engaged in at least 12 hours of sedentary behavior each day.
